The Island is dedicated to the Goddess Isis. Isis is considered the mother of Egypt as she spreads her huge wings and protects Egypt.
I attended the sound and light show as it depicted Isis talking to the River Nile. Isis was curious as to why her river wanted to flood her island.
The river answered Isis by saying," I am sorry but when the Aswan dam was built I had no where to go but submerge you. "Between 1972 and 1980 you have been dismantled and rebuilt to honor you for all eternity my dear Isis."
