The bronze horse above is in Milan,Italy in front of a racetrack named San Siro, designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. It's the tallest design of a horse in the world.
An article appeared in the National Geographic in 1977 titled "The Horse that never was." The article explained Leonardo Da Vinci's plans to build the tallest equestrian structure in the world.Leonardo built the original out of clay in 1499. However, a war broke out between Italy and France and the French used the structure for target practice. The beautiful horse was destroyed.
An American named Charles Dent reads the article and was on a quest to see if he could take Leonardo's plans and reconstruct his dream.Mr.Dent acquired scholars and artists and began to make Leonardo's horse a reality.
Mr.Dent died before he could see his project to completion. But, nonetheless the project was completed and on September 10,1999 five-hundred years to the date it was destroyed, the horse that is taller than a two story building was presented to the Milan people as a gift.
